The Drawing Board in Montpelier has a part -time, customer service/sales position opening on our team. We are looking for a dynamic, people person to cover the sales floor, run the register, answer phones and complete general retailing tasks like checking in shipments and helping with housekeeping. This position starts at 3 days a week with the possibility of full time in the future. Flexible schedule with occasional weekend hours.  NO phone calls please. Sales Clerk Job Description

·         Customer service: Greeting, being knowledgeable, friendly and helpful, taking special orders, answer the phone, retrieving framing orders

·         Work to Complete Task List: Task lists to be worked on in between customers

·         Supplies: acquiring needed office and operating supplies ie paper towels, soap etc

·         Inventory: Working out shipments, pricing and restocking items, assisting in twice a year physical inventory

·         Become a CAMP(Certified Art Materials Professional)

·         Appearance: Cleaning, vacuuming, trash removal, straightening, dusting, laundry and merchandising displays,

·         Special Projects: As assigned

·         Computer and Web: Must be comfortable using computers and the internet to create signage, labels and other printed materials

·         Use your Creativity: Help find ways to make DB the best art store ever! Are there products we should have samples of, products that might do better with handmade signage? How about ideas for future windows, interesting articles we can share on facebook take time to seek ways to make the store more fun and increase sales.

 

Expectation of Employees

·         Arrive on time and be on the floor at the time shift starts

·         Employees with keys are expected to have them when working

·         No cell phones on the sales floor

·         Employees are expected to work shifts scheduled. Employees need to give at least two weeks notice of time off requests and to find coverage

·         Employees need to be clean and neat in appearance
